Cheong Yi Harassed by Overzealous Fans at Airport

Chinese actress Cheong Yi faced a harrowing experience at the airport when she was pursued and forcibly embraced by obsessive fans.

According to multiple media outlets, including Hong Kong 01, on October 10th (local time), Cheong Yi was mobbed by several ardent fans at the airport while en route to the '2026 88VIP Super Cool Music Awards' in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province on the 8th. The situation escalated when one fan reportedly lost control, rushing towards Cheong Yi and forcibly hugging her, causing a disturbance.

Some overzealous fans allegedly followed Cheong Yi to the restroom entrance. Eyewitnesses reported that one fan pursued her to the bathroom door to take photos.

Cheong Yi's manager quickly intervened upon spotting the intrusive fan. To protect the actress's privacy and ensure on-site safety, the manager restrained the fan and demanded the deletion of any photos taken.

In the wake of this incident, fans have voiced their criticism of such extreme behavior from obsessive admirers.

Cheong Yi is currently in Hong Kong, busy filming her new drama 'Lie Hunter.' She attended the awards ceremony as a closing guest after wrapping up her Hong Kong shoot and traveling through Shanghai to Kunshan, Jiangsu Province.

Born in 1990, Cheong Yi is a graduate of the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in China. She made her entertainment industry debut in 2011 with the drama 'The Tang Palace Beauties' and gained widespread recognition in 2020 with her role in 'Glass.'
