19-Year-Old Jung Chang-gun Becomes Major Shareholder of HNIX: What This Means for the Future?
Former KBS Announcer's Son Becomes Largest Shareholder of HNIX at 19, Sparking Interest in Future Management Role

Jung Chang-gun, the 19-year-old son of former KBS announcer Noh Hyun-jung and ex-HN Inc. President Jung Dae-sun, has emerged as the largest shareholder of IT service company HNIX, industry sources confirmed Thursday.
According to business and media reports, Jung, born in 2007, now holds a 39.74% stake in HNIX, securing his position as the company's primary shareholder. HNIX, established in 2022 as a spin-off of HN Inc.'s IT service division, has demonstrated a robust business foundation, reporting annual revenue of 76.6 billion KRW (approximately 57.45 million USD) and operating profits of 3.7 billion KRW (approximately 2.78 million USD) last year.
The company's shareholder roster reads like a who's who of the Hyundai business empire. HNIX CEO Cha Dong-won holds an 18.50% stake, followed by Asan Foundation Chairman Chung Mong-joon with 11.75%. Other notable shareholders include HL Holdings (10.39%), Hyundai Materials (8.95%), and KCC Group Chairman Chung Mong-jin (5.17%).
As the great-grandson of Hyundai Group's late honorary chairman Chung Ju-yung and grandson of former Hyundai Aluminum President Chung Mong-woo, Jung represents the fourth generation of the influential Hyundai family. While his substantial shareholding at such a young age has raised eyebrows, experts believe his direct involvement in company management is unlikely in the immediate future due to his youth.
Noh Hyun-jung, Jung's mother, rose to fame after joining KBS as an announcer in 2003. She quickly became a household name, hosting popular shows like "Imagination Plus" and "Star Golden Bell." Noh was particularly praised for her polished delivery on the "Wisdom of the World" segment of "Imagination Plus," which contrasted with her elegant demeanor.{vi17}}
At the height of her career in 2006, Noh surprised fans by announcing her marriage to Jung Dae-sun and retiring from broadcasting. The couple welcomed their first son, Jung Chang-gun, in 2007, followed by their second son, Jung Chang-seong, in 2009. Since then, Noh has focused on family life and supporting her husband's business endeavors.{vi19}}
The Noh-Jung family has recently been the subject of increased media scrutiny. Last year, news broke that a prime piece of real estate in Seoul's Seongbuk-dong, owned by Jung Dae-sun, was put up for auction. This development was reportedly connected to the court-supervised restructuring of HN Inc., where Jung was the majority shareholder. Now, with her teenage son's ascension to HNIX's largest shareholder, Noh finds herself and her family once again in the spotlight, drawing attention from both the business community and the general public.
