Police have conducted two rounds of questioning with singer Song Min-ho regarding allegations of negligence during his alternative military service and are expected to wrap up the investigation soon.

At a regular press briefing held in Seodaemun, Seoul, on the 17th, a police official stated,
"We summoned Song Min-ho for questioning twice, on January 23 and February 15. Based on evidence obtained through search and seizure as well as communication records, we will determine whether the allegations hold merit, and a conclusion will be reached soon."

Song Min-ho began his alternative service in March 2023, following basic military training. He was initially assigned to the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation before being transferred to the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility. However, allegations surfaced that he neglected his duties during his service. Despite the controversy, he was officially discharged on January 23 as scheduled.

In response, YG Entertainment stated,
"We are unable to confirm detailed information regarding the artist’s service. However, his medical leave was an extension of treatment he had been receiving prior to enlistment, and all leave was taken in accordance with regulations."

Nevertheless, further testimonies from colleagues have fueled suspicions. Reports claim that Song failed to adhere to proper working hours and spent a significant amount of time on personal activities rather than fulfilling his duties.

Due to these allegations, the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) requested a police investigation. If the allegations are proven true, Song Min-ho’s discharge could be revoked, requiring him to serve additional time to compensate for the period of negligence.

Currently, the police have seized and are analyzing CCTV footage from the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility, where Song was stationed. They are also reviewing his personal mobile phone records as part of the ongoing investigation.
